I purchased my scorpio on 24/10/2009 from sireesh auto bangalore, showroom experience was great. I compared 3 cars before I decided on scorpio innova, xylo and scorpio. First innova is a great car but I felt it lacks engine power when compared to scorpio and also it lacks modern bits lack VGT and intercooler in 2009, but it is a partical 8 seater and boot space also avaiable. Where as zylo has more space then innova but the 3rd row head room is too low, in a case the driver loses the sight of speed breaker the 3rd row passanger will hurt the head and at that time in 2009 where xylo was a newly launched product I don't wanted to take a chance with a new product from a indian manufacture.

so I finally settled for mahindra scorpio mhawk SLE and as on 12/07/2011 I have Driven around 33, 000 kms I faced few problems in the begining stage at around 10, 000kms like the oil pressure waring light used to glow continously even after stating the engine and will go off as soon as I rev the engine to around 1500rpm. Service techinican at sireesh auto did a good job to solve the problem( changeing the oil pump) and solved the problem. and the second problem was at around 15, 000 kms the clutch failed at middle of road in a interior village around 75 kms from bangalore and I was some how able to drive the car without using the clutch by switching off the engine selecting the first gear the then starting the engine in the 1st gear the car starts to move slowly and smoothly swift the gear for 1 to 2 gear and so on it took me 3 hrs to reach the service center luckly this break down happened on sunday afternoon where the traffic was the lease in bangalore encouraging me to drive without a clutch. Next day my scorpio was back running the faulty oil seal in clutch cylinder was replaced under warranty.

After this I did not face not problem till today compared to my 2003 scorpio this scorpio is more stable at high speed even at 170 kms break is excellant and ABS works perfect the ride is good in front seat and middle row but third row is touch too bounce. where scorpio sets a benchmark is in the engine department the engine works so brillantly the smoothness of engine is great, the variable geometrical turbo reduces turbo lag to a great extent making life easy in city traffic and in hillstation. scorpio is the one perfect car in gart sections as it has good compact size and combined with powerfull engine scorpio will pull you out from anywhere.

when it comes to passanger space scorpio is very good and seat have good soft cusion for 5 adults and 2 young children. AC cools well for the front and middle seat but not for third row seat

scorpio has very little running maintaince even after 33, 000 kms brake pads are still good, tyre still look new no sign of wear and tear engine oil need replacement only at every 15, 000kms and spare are not expensive mahindra service in sireesh auto is great.

As on 23 sep 2012 my Scorpio has done 65, 000 kms

I am Satish Rajendran we run an industrial packing business in Bangalore since there was a shortage of labours. I being a travel enthusiast decided to go Dhanipure a small village which is located about 150kms from siliguri and 32 kms from mall bazar . I took my friend Alexander along with me and a labour to locate the village and help us in finding labours and bring them along with us in our Mahindra Scorpio Mhawk

We started from Bangalore at around 10 am on 2nd of august 2012 me Satish, Alexander and Lalbabu we reached Tirupati at around 2.30pm had our lunch and continued our journey and reached Nellore at around 7.00pm and reached Vijayawada at around 11.30pm and started off to Rajahmundry and reached 1.00am on 3rd august 2012 and started off to Vishakhapatnam and from here my friend took over the car and drove to Vishakhapatnam at around 5.30 am. We crossed Vishakhapatnam and stopped at 7.30 am at a fuel pump for a quick fresh up and had a breakfast in a nearby dhaba next to the fuel pump and at 8.45 am we started out journey towards Bhubaneswar and reached Bhubaneswar at 2.30 pm after crossing Bhubaneswar we stopped for lunch and to taste Orissa sweet and started off to Kolkata stopped for dinner at 8.30 pm before Kolkata and started off at 9pm and reached Kolkata at 10pm .3rd Aug. 2012 pm because we were stuck in traffic at Orissa – west Bengal check post. Road from Nellore to Kolkata was great all 4 lane, but things changed after Kolkata.

Road from Kolkata to siliguri 600kms is very bad we took 17 hrs to reach siliguri and reached siliguri at around 3.00 pm 4th Aug. 2012 and continued towards Dhanipure and reached at 7.30 pm .we left lalbabu in his house and we went back to Mall bazar to find a lodge for us to stay that night which is about 32 kms from Dhanipure we stayed at west Bengal tourism development corporation ltd HEMANTA BHAVAN 12 BBD Bag East Mal Bazar . This was the first night we stayed at a lodge since we left bangalore

On 5th Aug. 2012 we got ready to 7.00 am and checked out and headed to Dhanipure to find labours and reached Dhanipure at 7.30 am we spoke to labours and they were all ready to come along with us by 9.00am all labours were arranged and we decided to go to Bhutan which is only 10 kms from Dhanipure. We went to India Bhutan border parked our car and walked into Bhutan about 3 km and reached a small village we had a cup of tea and visited few tea estates and returned to Dhanipure and on the way we went to Chengmari tea garden and had a factory visit and reached Dhanipure at 2.00 pm for lunch, after lunch we took 9 labours and me and my friend total 11 people started our return trip to Bangalore.

Since we had travelled so far we decided to go to Sikkim [Gangtok] and Darjeeling so from Dhanipure we started off to Sikkim 120 kms and reached at 9 pm on 5 Aug 2012 we took two rooms for 11 people and had a good night sleep.

We started off early on 6th august 2012 6.30am went for local city site seeing after seeing Gangtok till 11 pm. We took off to Darjeeling and reached Darjeeling 105 kms at around 2.30 after good lunch in Darjeeling we started to visit Darjeeling city till 6.30 pm and returned to siliguri for our return journey.

On 6th august we reached siliguri at around 9.30 pm and after dinner to started off to Kolkata and reached Kolkata at 3.30pm on 07th august 2012 and after reaching Kolkata drive was smooth we than started to drive to Bhubaneswar from Kolkata and reached Bhubaneswar at around 11.00 pm. This part of our journey was delayed because of one tire puncher .We kept moving and reached Vishakhapatnam at 6.45 am on 8th august 2012 we than stopped for refreshing our self at a fuel station and around 7.30am and had our breakfast at the fuel station and started off to Rajahmundry at 9.00 am and reached Rajahmundry at around 12.30pm and continued to Vijayawada and reached at Vijayawada at 2.00pm after crossing Vijayawada we stopped for lunch and at 2.45pm we started out journey to Nellore and reached Nellore 7.30 pm and after a cup of tea we continued to Tirupati, just before Tirupati we had our Dinner [last food of this trip] at around 9.30 pm and started off to Bangalore at 10.30 pm and we reached Bangalore at 3.00am on 9th august 2012

We completed 6050kms from 2nd Aug 2012 10am to 9th Aug 2012 3.00am

We had stopped only refreshing and food

Reason for the trip was to get labors and not sight seeing.

My 3rd review on scorpio as on 29/09/2013 90, 000 KMS

Everything is Excellent. At 85, 000 KMS got the front suspension upper and lower arm ball joint replaced under extended warranty. Very low maintenance car. Even after 90000 kms their is no rattling noise from door panel and dashboard But sometimes seats do rattle little. But engine is very good Engine feels and sounds as good as new one. I think tyre will last another 10000 kms. With good maintenance like wheel aliment and balancing every 10000 kms and tyre rotation every 5000 kms original bridgestone in scorpio last 1, 00, 000 kms which is excellent. I plan the replace my tyre with same bridgestone dueler. Scorpio is a good produce to buy. Resale value is also very good.
