I drove on east coast road from pondicherry to Bangalore via Chennai.

My scorpio at that point had done about 1500k.

At about 100kmph the steering started to shake visibly.

come down to 90 it was ok.Go up to 110 and above ok again.

The dealer said it was a wheel balancing issue.

yesterday went for first service. Met a gentleman who owns a scorpio for year and half now. Second time his brakes failed after 40000 Kms.ofcourse his was an older Scorpio. One of the first to hit the market he said. He has had to replace the drive chain too (which he told me used to be something different in pre crde models).

All the more reason not to buy new makes any brand) right away.

I still say the crde has plenty of ooomph and I never felt it was running out of control on the highway. But on Bangalore roads it lets you know that behind the power steering its a beast. My wife though manages to drive around in it in bangalore traffic and kinda likes it. Size does matter and its a good vehicle to intimidate autos and call center indica's.

Not very refined but definitely enjoyable on good roads. Back seat passengers complain at most times when riding on bangalore by lane(includes me). Also me, and more so my better half feel on bad roads(read potholes connected with bits of tar) the vehicle is difficult to control. Vehicle kind of tries to run away. Probably something to do with the turbo.

I fill her up with turbo jet when I get a chance. Not available at all gas stations including the BPCL company outlet outside my office. So this week plain diesel. Last week it was turbojet.

One of the readers rightly pointed out that BPCL has no turbojet.I stand humbly corrected.I guess I meant the BPCL equivqlent of Turbojet.

Intersting incident day before, that talks of the the roll problem in the SCORPIO.

On a narrow bumpy bangalore road I was passing a bullock cart.

There was enough space for both of us.But then the roll factor surprised me.

vehicle started rolling from side to side. Then brushed the cart. After driving around in cars for many years this was a surprise to me.
