I will give a honest review of my new kuv 100 k4 diesel.I want to buy a diesel car and was confused between diesel swift, grand I 10, new figo, beat. I always dream of buying a suv, but a suv is always expensive, with lesser pick up and mileage than a diesel hatchback.
But when I saw and drive kuv100 diesel, I immediately buy it, as it fulfill my requirement, price, pick up, driveability, mileage of a diesel hatchback, and feel of a suv.
It drives too good, especially in city, required very less gear change. Car can started in 3 rd gear. And in 4th gear, u can come even at speed of 20km/hr without a hickup to move again from here.
Overall pickup is nice. May be lesser than swift or figo.Now here’s the surprise. On the road, the KUV is almost as quick as the Swift to 100kmph taking a little under 15 seconds to hit the mark. But that’s not all; it completely destroys the Swift when it comes to driveability. It is 3 seconds quicker in the 20-80kmph run(in 3rd gear) and almost 10 seconds faster in getting to 100kmph from 40kmh in 4th. And it’s only 8kmph down on top speed with the KUV maxing out at 156kmph(true speed).
This is partly down to the engine’s flat torque curve that peaks at 3, 600rpm and to the KUV’s shorter gearing. The engine pulls well in the low and mid range. city driving is best in class. Kerb weight is 1140kg, written on my r.c. Swift is about 1060kg. Suspension is too good. Brakes awesome. Sitting is higher than these other hatchback, so u feel king in front of these hatchbacks. Off road performance is no doubt better than hatchback. Ground clearance is sufficient to beat any speed breaker and bad patholes. I am getting city mileage of 15kmpl. May be increased after 1st service. Nice interior and comfortable seats.
Overall a good mini suv. Good looks and drive. And most importantly price is at par to diesel hatchback. Go get it.
I am updating my review. Now city milege rose upto 18kmpl. And recently went to shimla, car gave overall milege of 22 kmpl. And most importantly it drove very well on snow, where I saw other cars and innova slipping. Abs works well on snow. I love this mini suv.
