I being a student of MAHARAJA SURAJMAL INSTITUTE pursuing bcom(h)(1st batch) would like to give a brief description of studies and freedom to students.
It was a good experience studying during the first semester as the director was old(existing one). but in the second semester, the director changed(current) and the experience of college, It went like of a school.
WE WERE ASKED TO WEAR LANYARDS(Id-CARDS) in college even during the classes.
Strictness in the college increased. once my friend was roaming in the corridor when the recess just started and he was walking with his friend his hands on his shoulders when the director was just passing from there and started questioning them, that why are you roaming like this.? is this the way to walk in corridor?
INFRASTRUCTURE
If I talk about the infrastructure, then we have a large building completely covered with red bricks like design. I hope you are able to imagine. for more clarity I have attached a picture of college, go through it.
Classes doesn't have air conditioners yet(at the time of writing the review). They are just only installed on the fourth floor and we have no idea yet, whether they are going to be installed on rest of the floors or not.
Classes are well furnished, some classes are equipped with only black boards and some have white boards installed as well. Projectors have just been installed in all the classes and they are basically to show presentations(that's the purpose, we use it for).
College also provides hostel service within the campus. I don't know much about it a I don't stay there and never needed to visit there.
College have two canteens. the old one which is just 3-4 times the size Chinese fast food vans and we just got a new one which is much bigger and well developed. full open and just covered with a shelter, but it looks nice.
EDUCATION
Education in this college is fairly good because our new director is also very focused on quality education. whenever he visits our classes he only talks about quality education and the value or power of education. bcom(h) is a new course introduced in 2015 in this college and the teachers of bcom(h) were also new so they are just great in teaching. they take a lot of pains to give quality education to us. College also conducts various co curricular activities and help the students join various societies like theatre social welfare, enviornmental, gaming, music, dance, and many more.
GEOGRAPHICAL BENEFITS
Maharaja Surajmal is situated in janakpuri, which is surrounded by many small restaurants and food outlets. so students in there free time can hangout and many more places within a small distance.
FINAL VERDICT
So basically this college would suit only those who are ready to study and not for those who want to fully enjoy their college life. you wont get any facilities or amenities like amity university, but you can expect good education as IT IS THE MOST REPUTED AND VALUABLE COLLEGE OF IP UNIVERSITY RANKED #1
