If you ask me which the best romantic place to visit in Maharashtra near Mumbai for 2 days, especially for new couples? I would suggest Mahabaleshwar. I have visited this place 8 to 10 times in last 5 years.
I know even Matheran is also good and very near to Mumbai but still I would recommend Mahabaleshwar but only if you have own vehicle and enough time to visit places around it.
Like any hill station the best time to visit Mahabaleshwar is monsoon and winter. But if you want to enjoy calm and silence of nature then don’t ever visit on weekends of course to avoid crowd at any point as well as market and Mapro Garden.
You may read about many attractions in Mahabaleshwar. But personally only 1 place which is the most favorite. “Krishnai temple”. It is in Old Mahabaleshwar and very few people actually visit this because it is located on other side of Panchganga Temple. But if you want to experience the magic of meditation, then this is must visit place for you.
Just try to once in life. You will remember it forever.
