Mahabaleshwar. Review on Mahabaleshwar

As we wanted to get rid of the Mumbai’s summer, this May we decided to visit Mahabaleshwar.  We started our search by checking with some of the hotels in m’bleswar but the rates were too high as it was peak season and then sight seeing cost is separate which goes to Rs. 10000 then our next search was the tours arranged from Mumbai.  There are several tours & travel who will arrange to & fro package, the cost varies depending on the travels, hotels, room, facility etc.  After checking with almost 10 tours finally we made the deal with Pravas Tours (If you have bargaining power you can bring them down by Rs. 500 in peak season but unfortunately we cudnt do thatJ ).  They gave us 2N 3D package for 4150 (includes breakfast, lunch, dinner, sight seeing by car and to & fro bus).  While making the booking I made it clear I wanted an economy room with clean room and good room service they showed us the photos of hotel Blue Park.  In the photographs the hotel was looking good with garden areas and clean room but when we went there to our horror the room was the worstest of what they could have given us and that to with no water.  After wasting ½ hr. on phone calls at Mumbai office and few arguments with them they promised to arrange a good hotel in ½ hr. which they did.  Finally we left that filthy place (but rest of the people stayed there).  This means if you fight you get your piece of cake otherwise you are left with leftover.  This problem is with all the small tours and travels, they have tie-up with each other.

This hotel was good enough, most important is clean room. You can order anything that is served in the hotel which was the best part except Chinese dishes and the food, breakfast everything is arranged in the room. Food was delicious. For sight seeing also we didn’t had any problem there was pickup and drop at hotel by car.  If it is sharing then 2 couples.

You are given ample amount of time to visit the sights.  In sight seeing we completed Panchgani, Mahabaleshwar and a fort. 2days are enough to cover all this palces both the days we were back to hotel by 4.00 p.m so we got time to stroll around the market where we tried our luck with street side games for Rs. 20 each there are lot of such type like 7 up 7 down etc. but were unlucky. Even while buying strawberry’s and mulberry’s in the market you can bargain with them. I noticed the rates are different every day and in evening they sell it at fewer price.

Next evening we thought of going to Tapola – water park but few taxi drivers told us its waste to go there instead we can see venna lake which is at 15 min. walking distance from market.  One will enjoy walking on the empty roads of m’baleshwar with cool climate which we don’t get to see in Mumbai. The lake is marvelous you can go for boating for Rs. 150 each or horse riding for Rs. 50 each or just sit there enjoying the cool breeze eating sweet buttas.

There are several points in m’baleshwar which I need not mention.  You will never get bored to visit this place n number of time.
