The queen of hill station's in Maharashtra and one of the most breath-taking places in the entire country. Yes, I am talking about MAHABLESHWAR. This little hill-station, very near to Pune, has something to suit everybody. From children to the elderly, everyone can have a perfect holiday here. And the best reason you can come here is to get away from 24X-7 city life.

Video games and slot machines will make it for the game freaks and all pre-teenagers in general. Most of the resorts here provide really good games. You can enjoy these games overlooking the awe-striking scenery. How can I forget Horse-riding!! Mahableshwar is perhaps the best place to learn how ride a horse. The most graceful horses are here. This is another reason that makes Mahableshwar an off-beat destination. And boating is also absolutely wonderful here. The water swishing-splashing as you row- row- row your boat. Really worth it. Pooland Go-carting (my favourite, I loved it. It was so much fun racing in that little car.)

Strawberries are something that Mahableshwar is extremely famous for. So, if you come here, make sure you have lots of strawberry ice-cream or strawberry milkshakes or fresh strawberry jam or just STRAWBERRIES. Believe me, you don't want to miss them when you come here.

The best time to come here would of-course be summer time. The cool and serene environment is perfect for a break from the burning cities. But, unlike some hill-stations, Mahableshwar is pleasant throughout the year.

There are numerous places that come under 'sight seeing'. You have the 'WILSON POINT'popularly known as the 'SUNRISE POINT'. This is the highest point above sea-level in Mahableshwar.

The ARTHUR SEAT is another point. And it claims to be the Queen Of All points. It shows the geographical distinction between the Konkan and Deccan regions. It's really wonderful and gives you a glimpse of the diversity in our country.

KATE'S POINT follows. It is also called 'Echo Point' for the obvious reason that your voice echo's magnificently in the valley. It is like rock hanging from the majestic hills. It overlooks the Krishna river and provides and lovely view.

Then, we come to the LOVER'S POINT. Perfect for couples on their honeymoon!

There are many other points that must not miss for your lifetime like the Bombay Point, Lodwick Point and Babington Point. I know, there are lots of 'points', but I assure you that it is definitely not as monotonous as it sounds.

Apart from the 'points' (I'm sorry, I had to repeat the word) Mahableshwar has majestic historical sites. The ones I'd recommend are Pratapgad fort and Mount Malcolm (even though, this place has lost the beauty it earlier had, it's worth a visit.)

Now, I'd like to declare my favourite- The Venna Lake and The Waterfalls. But I must say that the waterfalls are thoroughly breath-taking only in the rainy season. One can spend the whole day at Venna Lake, admiring it's beauty and boating in the sparkling water. It is a major attraction.

If you are a person who likes to pay visits to temples and other places to worship, then don't think that Mahableshwar has nothing for you. The Panchganga Mandir, the Mahableshwar temple, Marray Peth Mosque and Hanuman Mandir are beautiful. They have a mystical history if you'd like to know it.

Shopping in Mahableshwar isn't a perfect experience but you must wander in the 'bazaar' and buy the jams, jellies, lots of berries and sauces.

I give you my word, Mahableshwar won't let you down.
