About:Magath Restaurant
Place: xyz Complex, Above some Hardware shop, First Floor, Mahadevapura, Outer Ring Road
The place is not very comfortable. I started eating in this restaurant about a year back owing to the poor non-vegetarian food provided in my office. I was happy to find this place as it fit my budget. Moreover the taste was pretty good. Being a heavy Non-vegetarian and Roti lover, this place was the only one available in Mahadevapura. I would visit atleast once in a week for lunch to this hotel only for the taste. The tawa roti was awesome along with Non-veg gravy's and Tandoori Chicken.
Suddenly this hotel closed down for about 3 months(might be May, June, July 2009) and I was bit sad about it.
Again the restaurant came up in August or so. I went back for the taste, but was very disappointed. The taste was not good. The quality was bad.
About 4-5 times I got Tandoori chicken parcel and everytime I opened it, hardly it looked like Tandoori Crow. I tried even with gravy's the size did not look like chicken at all. And by this time I too observed a common pattern that when ever I ate I had stomach upset and kind of puking sensation for atleast 3-4 hours. I had to take a lime juice and soda or pepsi kind of drink and go for a long walk to get rid of this.
I discussed about this with my pals and guessed that the non-veg esp. Chicken should be either Crow or some other mid-sized bird.(Guess why now you can't see more crows as you had seen during your school days!)
Jokes apart, we seriously thought it to be crow but eventually our closest guess is this is the chickens which die due to some snake bites, health or disease. These guys buys it for cheap and make it here for a "nice" price.
This is our kind of conclusion too. I am writing this pretty seriously because in India we do not have a regularised Food Inspection for the restaurants. I doubt if this hotel will be registerd in SOUTH INDIA HOTELS & RESTAURANTS ASSOCIATION. [ http://www.fhrai.com/]
And also the price for such a quality is ridiculous. Example, you got to pay Rs. 150 for Tandoori chicken which is close to normal hotel like the famous Fanoos near Richmond Circle.
Moreover, I see lot of white collar professionals working for AXA group, HP, EMC flocking at this place. Watch out guys, health is important. I decided I would no more goto this restaurant.
My final verdict is Quality is very very poor. Taste is "ok". Price is - "Health toll", which is not at all bearable.
