I took MTNL ADSL Broadband connection on getting goods Rpts regarding the speed and free download at night. I was happy since after I applied the the adsl router and service was setup in 7 days but my happiness was short lived.
I got excellant browsing speed but after few days problems started coming up. The line started going down and up intermittently till about 8 days ago it went down completely. I immdiately rang up 1504 and filed complaint. the operator there directed me to a couple of no. which no one ever picks up. Next Day, I went to exchange and spoke to Mr. Yadav, the linesman who takes care of problems in our area. He said that he would take care of it. 2 days passed & he didn't turn up. Meanwhile whenever I used to call 1504. the operator there used to give the same 2 nos. which no one picked up and went to the extent of venting her feeling against her seniors saying the seniors mess up and we have to bear all the problems.
On the 5th day, I again went to meet Mr. Yadav at 10:30 am who asked me to meet his boss Mr. Mhatre who was not in his place. I waited for 30 min after which I decided to leave as they said they were not aware where he had gone and I had to go to office.
It been 8 days now and still the adsl link is down. The Exchange personnel don't care to come as they are ignorant of what Broadband is. Meantime, I will be charged at Rs.20 per day for the services. I have no option but pray to god that someone realises that a link is down and rectifies it.
My advise to you is - If you have any other private service provider in your area - go for it irrespective of extra cost as you know that MTNL with its lot of illetrate, lazy and simply rude personnel will never change.
