Ideal Beach Holiday. Review on MTDC Holiday Resort, Tarkarli, Sindhudurg

Comments: Its beautifully located right on the beach and the best place to stay in Tarkarli, as no other resort or guest house is located on the beach or has a sea front view from the rooms. It offers a variety of staying options like A/c or non A/c cottages, rooms in a boat shape house, Houseboats, and a dormitory. All the cottages and rooms in boat shaped house gives you the beach view. Both Veg. and Non Veg. food is well served. They have Kerala Ayurvedic massage facility along with Water sports like Snorkeling, Speedboat and Water scooter. All water sports are carried out away from the main resort. Bookings can be done through net or by visiting any of the MTDC offices also note that during public holiday weekends the occupancy rate is high so prior booking is more feasible.

Best Experience:The melodious sound of the waves can be heard inside the room and as you step out of the room, you have the whole beach to explore. The restaurant is on the beach giving a serene, refreshing view while munching. Relaxing on the hammocks tied to the trees outside the rooms was a good experience.

Worst Experience: Being a Government owned resort they take long time for Check-in and check-out. No Kayak's or floats are being provided, which could add more fun to the overall experience. Water sports if carried out from the main resort will be more convenient rather than going far. At present the guests have to use the Common toilets kept for the general public for changing clothes before and after the Snorkeling activity hence a separate changing room is a must.
