MPL Ford service station at OMR literally sucks. They think they are doing a great favour to customer by taking your car for service. First, they will not give you appointment. You will have to call those ladies 100 times to get an appointment and if you get an answer that they will call you back, forget it, you will never get a call. Then one the appointed day, you take your prized car to the service station in OMR, through one of the worst roads in Chennai - I think Ford has done this deliberately so that they can replace your car's suspension every other year.


Once in, the drivers in service station will scare you just trying to park the car inside the service station - these drivers are from F1 circuit, they accelerate suddenly, brake suddenly, honk crazily within that small enclosed space, do everything to your car that will make your heart bleed. Then you wait in the room watching TV for the "engineer" to come and take a look at your vehicle. These people are all deaf, they cannot hear whatever problems you report or if you ask any questions. They can only do the regular 10, 000/20, 000/etc Kms service. They will then ask you if they can deliver the car next day, just for a regular service. Once you drop the car, you walk away and then return to take back the car, they will still be water washing the car. You again wait in the room watching TV.


Water wash over in a hurry and your car will be dripping wet. Now the "engineer" will return back and he will start printing bunches of papers, called invoice. It will have tons of consumables, service charges, etc, etc and he will not explain anything to you. He will ask you to sign. These signatures includes agreement that you have inspected your vehicle and you are happy with the service provided by MPL ford! You then walk to the car and see if the problems reported have been fixed. No, "engineer" will not help you and remember he is deaf. Then you open the invoice and see that wiper washing liquid has been topped up. Just as a sample, open the bonnet, open the washer fluid cover and check - it will be EMPTY! You have already signed and paid and so you ask the engineer for washer fluid. He will, with all carelessness check the washer fluid tank only then and will ask someone to bring a pouch of washer fluid with no apology to you. So it goes... Your car is still dripping wet.


Now for payment if your bill is above Rs. 10, 000, you cannot use credit card for amount above 10, 000. No one can explain this. Once you are frustrated enough and want to move out, security will do an "inspection", he will just get close enough with you to see if you will pay him something. But he will give you two Ford paper floor mats for you - dont forget to collect this!!! You drive out feeling proud that your prized car now has a complete black tyre sidewalls - this is the only sign of Ford service. Few days/few months you realize that the problems you reported are still there, you live with it. Or go to India.Ford.com and read their Service Pledge. So much for Ford's customer service.
