Finally, after 6 months of using the product I write.
We purchased an apartment in Jan 2011 and my in laws(both senior citizens) stay here. The common arrangement in most apartment homes is one kitchen sink tap for bore water and the other for municipal(drinking) water.In our apartment the tap for drinking water gives water which is a mix of bore and municipal water with the other tap giving pure bore water. This system, I am told was introduced when there was a drinking/municipal water shortage issue in the past. Whatever the reasoning behind this arrangement.we decided to go in for a quality water purifying unit.
After much reading/research online I chanced upon the company Morf India. A very impressive website(Rajeev_Vermacially their problem escalation system) coupled with their unusually high rating( for a water purifier product) on our MouthShut_Official.com and a face to face interaction at home with a knowledgeable representative of Morf convinced me that Morf was it for me.Plus, the company's Hyderabad branch was located less than 1 km from my apartment!
The representative, Mr.Bharani checked the TOTAL DISSOLVED SOLIDS(TDS) in the water from the tap giving the municipal/bore water mix using a TDS reader. Check - https://tdsmeter.com/what-is- for more info.The reading was 400 ppm(parts per million, the unit of measurement of TDS). As per the procedure followed by Morf, a water sample is to be tested in a water testing lab to get a thorough profile of the water to be treated before recommending the correct machine to a client. But I was in a tearing hurry and I did not want to wait.Mr.Bharani said that they normally don't accept orders without testing but that he would make an exception in my case because he knew the water in my area very well as both his office and his residence(which were equipped with Morf units after prior testing) were in the same area.Therefore he knew exactly which product I needed.He recommended the'Sparkle Pure' machine which is a Reverse Osmosis unit. I was also asked to purchase a stand for the RO unit to mount it on the wall near the kitchen sink.
I paid an advance of Rs.1000(am told they usually collect more as advance).Everything proceeded smoothly.Thorough paperwork, timely progress of events right from the time of booking advance to installation. Everything was done in 3 days flat.

RO UNIT - Rs. 11, 500
Stand - Rs. 352
Total - Rs.11, 852
A thorough breakup of this expense from the Invoice:
RO unit - Rs.9842.79
Stand - Rs.307.42
Sub total -Rs.10, 150.21
Vat @14.5% - Rs.1471.78
Erection charges - Rs.208.52
Service Tax @10.3% -Rs.21.48
The water, as I am sure it is with all RO water, was very sweet tasting.It showed a TDS of just 24 ppm which was ideal drinking water quality!
Today, after 6 months of trouble free use and the first free scheduled maintenance visit of the Morf serviceman, I can quite confidently say that Morf is all that they claim to be.Good product, great service!
After sales service seems to be the most common hassle faced by customtakeouters of the popular Water purification companies.And after sales service is the strength of Morf!
By the way, the TDS showed a reading of just 17ppm when the serviceman took a reading today during the service. Nice!
So, do give Morf India a look before you decide on a Water purifier.You can't go wrong. :)
