MI 4 Pro - A value for money Smart TV. Review on MI Android TV

I had ordered the MI 4 Pro LED Android TV through Flipkart in March 2021 and have now been using this set for about 7 months .First; about the Selection – I wanted a second TV 32 inches( and not bigger than this size for the bedroom) after having used a Sony 20 inches for over 9 years . Obviously the old TV was not a smart one and I wanted an Android TV for accessing the OTT programmes especially after the lockdown. From all reviews on the internet I finally chose this make and model and have not been disappointed .This is something that I must add at this stage – there are a number of professional reviews available on You Tube which gives all the technical details and specifications quite accurately. Finally the MI4 Pro was selected on the basis of the software which is called Patchwall and is a proprietary product of MI for their TV sets . Installation including wall mounting was a breeze as it could fit in place of my old Sony TV. The USB connection to Tata Sky is an added feature using a MI device which had to be purchased separately . This ensures that your DTH can work with the TV remote. Projection of You Tube videos from the Phone is a breeze and so is replicating the phone screen on the TV . The audio is good though not loud and jarring .The Android software update in October 2021 was a good one but has certainly slowed down the TV start up time . There are separate buttons provided for Prime Video and Netflix by which one can go to the particular OTT platform directly . In addition there is Google search assistant button . One negative point which has now been addressed in the Android Software upgrade – There is no mute button provided on the remote – only when you don’t have this, do you realise how much you really use the mute button any TV remote! To recap – This is a value for money entry level product for a Smart Android TV and serves its use as a second TV for bedroom perfectly well .
