Movie starts with Sushant Rajput(Dhoni) in dressing room watching India's quick fall of wickets in ICC World Cup 2011. He goes straight toward his 7 number jersey, wears it and then have a word with coach Garry Kirsten to move himself up in batting order.
One more wicket falls and then Sushant picks his gloves and moves toward the ground.
Huge crowds starts shouting Dhoni -Dhoni as soon as they see him.
Movie goes back to early 80's when Dhoni is born.
First half of movie shows the struggle of Dhoni to achieve a place in Indian Cricket team.
It shows his transformation of passion from Football goalkeeper to Wicket-Keeper and then into batsman
Dhoni misses few chances to be part of Under-19 world cup and then Ranji Trophy because of hard luck.
Finally he decides to accept Railway's Ticket Collector offer under sports quota considering parents and family happiness.
Soon he again realizes that his passion and dream of cricket is getting lost. He leaves the job to achieve the dream.
First half of movie is too touching considering the level of efforts has been put for the passion of cricket.
Movie shows how his friend and family struggle through to make him a great cricketer.
Then in second half of movie, His Love life starts blossming.
A Unknown person to a great Indian Cricket Captian.
Second half of movie is quiet boring, Actress Disha Patani had played a good role of Dhoni's Ex-Love, Whereas Kiara Advani playing the role of Shakshi(Dhoni's Wife) is the worst part to watch.
The movie focuses more on struggle and love life of Dhoni, First half is quiet good but then movie seems to be lengthy.
Also movie could have focused more on Wicket-keeping and Captaincy of Dhoni which is not shown.
Overall, Performance of Sushant Rajput goes will in cast of Dhoni.
A must watch for Dhoni and Cricket lover fans.
