This is to call out the excellent customer service rendered by Lufthansa airlines for my delayed baggage. On 04 March 2017, my flight back to Mumbai was rescheduled due to bad weather.
As soon as my flight landed in Mumbai, I got a call from the Lufthansa helpdesk on my mobile stating that my luggage had not arrived. They then requested me to meet them directly at their kiosk after immigration and not search for the luggage on the belts.
As soon as I arrived at their kiosk, all my forms were proactively filled up. A few remaining fields such as value of items in the baggage, address, etc. were filled in the form by the Lufthansa representative before me. After that I was escorted by the representative to the customs officer and then to the security checkup. All this took less than 5 minutes!
I was literally out of the airport in less than 10 mins of my plane landing and I was mighty impressed by the professionalism and proactive behavior of the Lufthansa crew. After that, I got my baggage after 48 hours. During those 2 days, I used to get a call from Lufthansa every day informing me about the status of my baggage. I did not feel the need to call them even once!
Never before did I have such a hassle-free experience in getting my delayed baggage. My previous experiences around lost/delayed baggage were tedious and painful with multiple follow-ups and long queues at the airport. Kudos to Lufthansa Mumbai team for delivering such exemplary customer service.
