How does it feel to be loved?

LOVE...

These people are lucky, in a way, to experience this one syllable which can mean everything to them. ‘These people’ are me, you and us. Will love exist forever? Where is the place of music in love? How much can someone love someone else? Is love really being given the importance it deserves? And how many are faking the love? Questions and answers cannot exist so much on something we cannot touch but can only be felt by the heart by all living things.

‘Lucky’ came at a time which redefined the purpose of music in Bollywood. Adnan Sami exposed to the musical world, melodies, remixes and the finest music. When was the last time we heard something different from the Maliks, the Rahmans and the Jatin-Lalits. Accept the change or I should better say; please appreciate the smooth transition to a more romantically intellectual music. Sameer scraped all his old lyrical textbooks and wrote something which amazed me.

Shayad Yahi To Pyar Hai:Romantic Energy- The Many Questions of Love Blended In Music…

Did you know? It’s the second album after many years where both Ashaji and Lataji are featuring together. The first one recently was Page 3.

Bewildering of whether this is love or what is it; the confusion of emotions are vocally expressed with soulful lyrics by both singers. The mix of romantic instrumental notes coupled with the ever-soothing background score creates the perfect timing for both to render without pressure

Adnan Sami: He sings as the romanticist with great passion about his answers for love.

Lata Mangeshkar: Lataji sounds very different from Veer-Zaara and truly excels. Her vocal cords are used without pressure.

Music Arrangements:Tranquil instruments with the right variation in the chords of the violins, an adequate flute flow and an easy touch on the piano. Superb orchestral follow-up for the antras.

+++++

Lucky Lips: Let’s bring jazz to Bollywood Music but wait…

Did you know? The chorus is partially lifted from the British Band ‘Wham!’s track ‘Everything She Wants’!

A modern cabaret piece with a fresh tune and yes it starts with a Colonial Cousins style. Then there is the sparkling chorus punctuated by dramatic pounds on the tabla. It is packaged to be sexy and entertains.

Asha Bhonsle: Why did it take so long to do it like RD Burman? Yes listening to this rather jazz Indian fusion, it seems that Ashaji is singing in the Burman mood.

Music Arrangements: The piece amalgamates all the elements of a bar jazz track; the soft piano, the repeated tabla and the fusion must-have. His orchestration is vivid throughout.

Jaan Meri Jaa Rahi Sanam: Emmm….heard before!

Did you know? The song carries the same feel as the Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s romantic songs in Kachche Dhaage. Why this influence?

Lost in the mountains, with birds flying in the blue sky and calves running around; both lovers try to show how much they are deep in love.

Udit Narayan: After singing a lot of songs for the sake of money, Udit finally sings the right song suited for his voice. His voice extracts the best romantic pronunciations.

Anuradha Paudwal: Who would think that it’s Anuradha singing? Her voice is innocent.

Music Arrangements : Excellent with an exact dose to make it the right filmi romantic song.

+++++

Sun Zara: Will the love really listen such a song and lyrics?

Did you know? The start consists of some kind of Gregorian Chants and the synthetic flute- a strong inspiration from ‘Sadeness’- Enigma.

The song can said to be different but I cannot agree on the word ‘different’. The tune itself is new to Bollywood music. In technical terms, no raag has been used but the use of different notes in such a way is not heard often.

Sonu Nigam: Feeling a bit sleepy while singing. He could have put more soul to it but he managed to finish the song decently.

Adnan Sami Version: You can spot the difference when a composer sings his own tune. The quality is better in terms of singing; the delivering of the lines is accurate and the breath pauses are controlled meticulously. Excellent singing!!!

Music Arrangements: Highly Westernized with shades of European influence all over. The acoustics and the jazzy feel once again. The violin is orchestrated with great care.

+++++

Hum Deewane: Typical Bollywood Song

Did you know? Adnan Sami likes using lots of Arabian and Middle East musical notes in all his songs, including previously released albums.

‘Hum Deewane’: The two words which are present in the minds of all lyricists. Have these two words already made it to the title of a film? A fast pace track.

Sonu Nigam: One of these standard songs he is used to sing.

Anuradha Paudwal: She is just accompanying Sonu.

Music Arrangements: Arabian influence with a well used chorus. Variety of instruments used.

+++++

Chori Chori: Easy words = So-So song

Did you know? Although this song seems simple, the mukhda is quite long and not easy to compose.

Yeah it’s about these standard hindi flim songs which started from the 90s. Both are already in their most lovable state and showing how happy they are.

Sonu Nigam: A rather better effort from Judge Sonu.

Alka Yagnik: She is an expert when it comes to these songs.

Music Arrangements: Sami just put the bare efforts for this song. In short, a song arranged quickly. Instruments include the violins and the usual interludes.

+++++

REMIXES!!!

Lubov Mix: The Sun Zara Mix by Adnan Sami

A 3m43s track: better than 5 remixes being played everyday. Echoing the two words, ‘Sun Zara’ in a very jazzy mix once again. The percussions with this inner peace music with the multiple uses of the violins and the guitars really free the imagination. [No it’s not the best I have heard but a close competitor with Rahman’s themes and creativity on mixing. The ‘Taal Se Taal Mila’(Taal)- Western Remix is a gem by Rahman]

Lucky Lips – Bolshoi Mix - Asha Bhonsle

70’s percussions and style, Asha’s remix voice and the sound effects make this remix an absolute must-listen. Subtle ambiences are throughout the piece. Also contains deeply chilled sounds!

+++++

Why should you buy the album?

  1. Adnan makes a move from his albums and try to give new shapes to romantic songs.

  2. He made Lataji sings one of the best songs ever given to her in recent times.

  3. A Bollywood soundtrack with excellent remixes, rarely heard.

  4. It is an audio tonic for souls aching for deeper meaning, romantic inner peace and great beats.

Lucky: No Time For Love (?)

Yes there is time for love. With such heart-touching melodies, remixes and singing, surely, Adnan Sami shows that when we put love with music, there is a vital connection.
