Every one knows that road to bollywood is not rosy. Still butterflies fly on those roads. May be they too dream. Honeybees work as slaves but we are yet to know their mind and their unique ability to live younger. Do you want to live as a honey bee or butterfly? Do you do a job which you like? Is it by chance or by choice?

Unlike I read in many articles the film is not about two struggling artists, but a group of strugglers. The film shows the picture of a struggling industry which have no guidance and insecure people who all chase illusions but hope keep them alive and ticking. Ok, if we want to be particular, then it is about struggles(?) of one, not two.

Sona Mishra (KonkanaSen Sharma) is all determined to make her presence felt in bollywood and waiting for a break. In the star studded bollywood where nobody needs talent she knows that the road is not easy and was ready for compromises early. Years of wait didn't help her where she struggled to pass each day playing small roles. A young guy from Delhi (Vikram/Farhan Akhtar) all determined and manipulative enters her life and she gets attached to him. Vikram now have to deal with Nikki (Isha Sharwani), a star kid and a leading actress in bollywood. How the new relation is goingto affect Sona? How her career ambitions progress? Watch it on screen. All other filmy glitters are background scores.

The film tries to enter to the realities of bollywood and succeed in many aspects. It throws light to an area which many other films never attempted and require all praise. The movie shows the struggles and insecurities of Bollywood. Let it be actors, choreographers, directors, producers, writers, light boys. For one who involved with bollywood the film must be highly entertaining.

The writer Director however failed to give a soul to all these proceedings to take the film a step further… to beam it a level higher. The leading characters were not well defined nor the portrayal exceptional. The leading character compromised her self for years and when her new found love moves a bit out – audience don't feel any sympathy to her. Son of a businessman from Delhi gets what he want 'without' much struggle, sorry the leading characters failed to impress. We may however forget thestar kid's (Who talk and acts like an LKG student or insane) sudden wisdom for the good moments given earlier.

When the story doesn't grip you, the length will be felt double and sadly I felt the film is little lengthy. In the interval, I heard a comment like 'is it a documentary'? I could not blame them for their comment. However, the story got a momentum in the second half, thanks to Nikki Walia 'track'. It seems that the director was confused whether to make an art film or a commercial film. The Vikram – Sona track was more like a realistic film where the Vikram – Nikki track more of commercial and the film fail to impress both the groups.

DimpleKapadiagives the best performance in the film. As said in the film, she is still happening. Isha Sharwani gives the next best performance. She really lives her character and in style!! Farhan Akhtar and Konkana Sen Sharma gave their usual performance, good! However, their characters were let down by the writer. These two bright artists show us that even when they fail, they can fail gracefully. (I liked them even when I was not impressed by their characters or performance.) RishiKapoor and Sanjay Kapoor leaves some mark otherwise all the guest appearance gang filled the screen place adding the bollywood feel. Hrithik Roshan had an extended role and he did it quite ok. I always thought that the best actor to play a brother to Hrithik Roshan is Fardeen and when I saw both of them together on screen, my feel is reassured.

Cinematography is very good. Choreography of the dance scene in the circus background was well done, filling colour and excellent feel. Otherwise chorographer didn't have much to do in the film. Editing could have been better.

Overall, the film fails to leave a lasting impact. As told earlier, all those who involved with Bollywood it may turn to bean exceptional film. However, for the general public the film now have to depend on the guest appearances in the film(beginning with Amir Khan and ending with Shahrukh Khan), performance by the cast and the overall glamour than the content. If the film is turning to be a hit, it is only by Chance. My rating: 2.5 stars
