I saw 'Luck By Chance' actually by chance as I was in Ahmedabad and had some time to spare. Got into watching the movie with absolutely zero expectations, and came out having enjoyed every minute of it.
Farhan Akhtar is very subtly understated and nice (though I wonder whether people like him and Rani Mukherjee would ever have been given a chance if they were not star kids - with their voices). Konkona SenSharma is brilliant, as usual. Dimple Kapadia essayed the role of the star mother with her heart. But the most amazing package of the film has to be Rishi Kapoor. Romi Rolly ji, you were amazing!
It has been 3 weeks since I saw the film, but a few scenes especially stand out even now-
The scene when Dimple Kapadia tells Isha Sharwani about when she was 16, and her mother...
The scene between Karan Johar and Hrithik Roshan - simply brilliant!
The ending of the film, when Konkona has given her interview and the voice-over continues, and she's walking, getting into the taxi etc.
Sanjay Kapoor telling Farhan - "Hum bhi actor reh chuke hain" - hilarious!!!
And this is simply the best - when Shahrukh Khan tells Farhan Akhtar about only his old friends telling him the truth.
A lot of people have also talked about the last scene between Farhan and Konkona - it is also nice, but the above 5 are much better, in my view.
Paisa Vasool movie. And only someone very close to the film industry, who is also immune to its pressures, could have pulled it off. Great start, Zoya Akhtar.
