And after watching Lucifer, which has a runtime of over 2 hours and 55 minutes, you come to the conclusion that this is the motto of Prithiviraj, who after starring in over 100 films, forays into direction with this unabashed tribute to Mohanlal. The film features Manju Warrier and Vivek Oberoi in pivotal roles, but it's clear who Prithviraj wants the audience to cheer for, right from Mohanlal's slow-mo introduction.

Remember the biblical Lucifer who met his downfall because he tried to do too much? Well, this Lucifer crashes and burns like the villains being beaten up by Mohanlal, because it tries to squeeze in every raging issue in the country within its run-time.

Let's cut to the chase. For what it's worth, Lucifer shows much promise in the beginning, as it sets up the premise of an intriguing political thriller. The Kerala CM PKR ( Sachin Khadekar) is dead, and the next question is, who will succeed him?

Subtlety, thy name is Prithviraj.
