LOVELY PROFESSIONAL UNIVERSITY Cares
LOVELY PROFESSIONAL UNIVERSITY is working closely with MouthShut.com to achieve customer satisfaction
This is an authentic feedback of LPU to all admission and Job Seekers. Hope this helps you to some extent in your decision:
PHYSICAL INFRASTRUCTURE: They have one of the best physical infrastructures amongst private universities in India. With the words physical infrastructure, I mean auditorium, buildings, classrooms, malls, hostels, canteens etc. But, believe me, physical infrastructure is of little importance as far as value addition/placements are concerned. It is built to catch your attention and to force an opinion to alter your decisions during admissions.
QUALITY OF FACULTY: Very Poor. They don't treat faculty well. They might be paying more as compared to other engineering colleges which are already on the brink of closure, but they still pay much lower than what good faculty gets in other colleges like Thapar. Also, they do not have a good career plan for faculty. Attrition rate is very high, the average stay of faculty is 1-2 years. Majority of the faculty are very young and lack teaching skills and expertise.
COMPUTATIONAL INFRASTRUCTURE: Very Poor. The labs are very basic. Definitely not a university standard.
TEACHING LEARNING PROCESS:- Huge intake definitely impacts the teaching-learning process. 100% attendance and powerpoint presentations do not ensure effective TLP. In fact, a good faculty, a healthy research environment, good computational infrastructure, and Industry/professionally designed curriculum are the key ingredients of an effective TLP which seems to be missing in LPU.
PLACEMENTS: Believe in one thumb rule. " NO PAIN NO GAIN". High selection rate is an indicator of poor quality of intake. Institutes like IITs/NITs have selection rate as low as 2%. Whereas, average institutions have selection rate between 20-30%. LPU and many other private institutes have selection rate close to 100% which means almost everyone who applies gets a seat. Every company which goes for recruitment analyzes such parameters. LPU doesn't have a good list of recruiters. What they project as placements is a misnomer with flawed statistics.
In a nutshell, Please don't waste your money. If you do not get admission in top 20 government institutions( with few exceptions in private like BITS, Thapar, NIRMA, PSG Jaypee etc.) try for one more year or think seriously in choosing some other profession as your career.
