*After reading the book for straight two and a half hours, which I have to tell of course 12am - 2:30am, I started to wonder if the story did really happened or if it is just a product of Segal's creative genius.
The way the story was presented is very realistic and rarely found in the other books I've read. I can't help but commend the author for he alone made me forget the value of sleeping on time.
The characters were just what real people were. They are not the typical boring-wholesome characters I usually read. Simply, the characters weren't perfect, but they are real. Their characters exist in the real world, not in fantasy.
I love the twist about Oliver's father, which is practically true. Most children do everything just to please someone else, especially if that someone else is their parents. At the end, it is still what makes you happy that matters. Not what makes other people happy. No matter what it may cost you.
The best part in the story is the ending. Though it lackens a bit of details on the closing, I was still superbly touched with the reality it implicates. Parents are parents. And no other people could take the role they play in your life regardless of what you think about them.
Take a peek. If you want to read something that kicks. Love story by Erich Segal.
