Bad!. Review on Love At Times Square

I never in my wildest of dreams thaught that I would watch a movie called ''Love at times square'', but surprisingly this flick has become the all-time favourate of our home!..well not home but our homes, since my mothers family also loves it!

Love at times square cant fit into the normal genres of film making, its a different movive, actually wierd movie made by a lunatic , in which there are a bunch of morons trying desperately to put their act together! You might think I am contredicting my self but all of us absolutely love this film coz its hillerious in a way that Dev Anand has tried to make a serious love story , a father-daughter relationship , tried to show us the passion one has for music , but unfortunately(for him) and fortunately for us(coz we dont get bored anymore on hot afternoons) he has made a movie thats so bloody funny that you've got to be careful of not falling off your chair because you cant stop laughing for 3 hours, or whatever time the

movie lasts for!

THE STORY...

The biggest irony is that there does not seem to be any story! Sweety(HEENY KAUSHIK), Raj(SHOHEB KHAN) and Bobby(CHAITANYA)meet at the times square on the eve before the new year. Both the guys go ga-ga over Sweety and the three of them paly!

Sweety is a bubbly girl who dotes on her father(DEV ANAND) who lives in silicon valley, California! He owns big estates and Chaitanya gets a job there as a manager(surprisingly he gets a job after he finishes his BA while all the other graduates in India are either Rikshawalas, punes or unemployed). During all these chaotic and wierd happenings Raj and Sweety decide to drive down to Califorrnia from NYC by car and he gets even more interested in her, unfortunately she does not reciprocate his feelings! When they reach California they are surprised to find Bobby there. Anyway these three maniacs keep on shuttling between these 2 states and one fine day Bobby saves Sweety from gundas, hurting himself in return and thus creating a place for himself in Sweety's heart(painfully predicatble).

Now she is in a dillema and a confusion between which guy to choose , in the end she opts for Bobby (obviously, considering the other looks like the actress MANDAKINI)...

There are other insignificant characters like Angela(SIA RANA) who gets ample scope to display her pathetic acting

abilities..Also there is the great Dev Anand who is either the topic of conversation or present in every other scene!.Rishi Kapoor has a 2 bit role which is forgettable!

THE DIRECTION,COSTUMES,DIALOGUES..

The director(DEV ANAND) was sleepwalking through the film, which was expected considering he is 83 years of age. The movie makes no sense and makes you wonder why it was made in the first place. There are many funny scenes like the plane crash scene and the world trade center scene in which the BBC footage has been lifted. Also all the scenes in which Dev Anand is present are really funny. The sets, costumes and dialogues are tacky and way off the mark!

THE PERFORMANCES...

DEV ANAND:After watching this movie you can very easily guess his state of mind, he craves for the adulation and recognition

that he used to once upon a time get, in the 50s'. His aspiration of becoming the world's most richest, loved and saught

after man and of getting attention from 20 yr babes who wear next to nothing seem pretty obvious.

HEENY KAUSHIK: She needs to brush up on her acting skills or rather not brush up on them considering the amount of years she

is likely to survive in bollywood!

CHAITANYA: He was better than the rest but still pathetic (imagine what the others were like.)

SHOHEB KHAN: He should act in the modern version of RAM TERI GANGA MAILI and do the female part.

SIYA RANA: For now she should concentrate on loosing weight and working on her voice!
