Story:

Hi all you mouthshutters! its been a gazillion years since I have written a review on mouthshut.and no.its not because I dont like this site anymore.its just that life's challenges have taken away the precious time.well its high time that I wrestle some back.so here goes.

Book - Lost symbolAuthor - Dan BrownOther books by him - Da Vinci Code, Angels and demons, deception point, digital fortress.

Synopsis - A deep mystery into which our protagonist is pulled into unwillingly(same as in Da vinci code and Angels and demons). A loooooot of symbols and the mystic "free masons"(again same as in da vinci code), a female who moves along with the hero and contributes at all the relevant point and hints at a romantic angel(again the same as in da vinci code).a worldwide conspiracy which threatens to throw the entire world into chaos(again.blah blah blah).

Review:HOLD ON TO YOUR HORSES GUYS n GALS AND OPEN YOUR PURSE STRINGS.Coz thats where the similarity ends and man is this book worth reading.and ill tell you why.

Having read Da vinci code first and than all his other books, one thing I was confident about was that I would be able to guess the villain in this book by the half time.coz I dont know about all you other dan brown fans.his books tend to follow a similar style and you can make out who the bad guy would be.but in his latest endeavor he has actually proved that people like me are just idiots.

I kept on guessing almost to the very end and the way he has turned his weakness into his biggest strength is the USP of this book. You would be amazed at the turning point of this thriller.

SYMBOLOGY: Where does this guy come with such amazing details and research I really dont know. But he portrays it in such a way that most of us would want to leave our Btech and MBBS/MD behind and enroll in this course. But of course, if no such adventure comes our way, I am not sure how exciting it would turn out to be.But isnt that the talent of an author? how many of us thought about the charm of being a spy before Ian Fleming and his james bond, The danger of being a spy before Robert ludlum, the innocence of selfishness before Ayn Ryand, the dark side of wizardry before J K Rowling?. Well this is time of Symbology my friends.the next time you thing about the hidden meaning of our Ashok Chakra, it would be Kudos to Dan Brown

Story Pace: A fast paced novel which throws up many challenges and trivia which would make us almost reach for the laptop to google the facts which he has established. From the beginning he keeps us on the edge of our seats and its really quite difficult to keep the book down. Each new chapter throws up some twist or the other which keeps us from switching off the lights at night. But I do have to tell you to keep away from peeking at the ends of each chapter as they will reveal a turning point.there now I have sown the seeds of curiosity in all of you!

The Bad part:Spoilers!

Would definitely be the all revealing truth they were chasing after. You would tend to think that "was this what this whole mystery was about" and why did they go to such whole lengths if it was in plain view all along? I mean.why would the free masons weave such intricate secrets and puzzles for such a dumb end and that too without revealing any answers? you guys feel differently.do let me know.at least this is what I think is the main weakness of the book.his background and suspense is not worth the secret which he was hiding from the beginning. trust me and read the book I am sooooo tempted to reveal what I am talking about.but I wont.you know why? I know that there would be many of you guys who would read this synopsis and then not just read the book.

Cost of the book - INR 700 in india.(original and not the pirated copy)

read and enjoy.definitely worth it!
