I have been thinking & reading a lot about entrepreneurship these days, and what can be better to read the exploits of the man who glamourized entrepreneurship, a person who is the very picture of the swash-buckling entrepreneurship that we all want to be somewhere within.
The first thing that stuck me when I was reading this book, is that Richad Branson has been very candid in his description. Describing right from the humble beginning he had as a Magazine editor to owing an airline, a budding entrepreneur can instantly relate to his experiences. As much as he describes his successes in his enterprises, he is also brave enough to narrate his failures at time, due to his bad decisions. This gives a really good understanding and learning of the possible difficulties faced, how the competition behaves when you become successful, how to bring around people to your opinion and convince them to grant that one licence that will enable you to rush ahead of your competition.
The book also has inserts of around 10 pages containing pictures from his personal collections from through out his life, which is very interesting.
Compared to'It happened in India' by Kishore Biyani(of Pantaloons and Big bazaar fame), Loosing my virginity is definitely more appealing. Although some of the problems faced by the author as particular to a country(England in this case), still there is lot of learn from this book.
