I read this book thinking that it would be the nest best thing after Harry Potter only to be sorely disappointed. I know the book has been unanimously and ubiquitously praised to the hilt, but it does get tedious as it progresses. There is adventure after adventure and the story just doesnt move ahead. The book is grim and dark and as burdensome to go through as it is for Frodo to carry the ring. I thought it would be similar to Harry Potter , but no.
This is not to say that the book lacks gratness. It represents a lifetime of work, and the most astounding is the elvin script that one finds in the book.
Altogether, I found the book disappointing.
