Some months ago, I activated pushmail service on my GSM # 98700. At the time, I was using a Nokia E71 so things were fine. Since I changed the h/set to a Samsung Ace coupla months back, the monthly billing went thru the roof. Since their on fone/email reverts suck, I went across to the gallery at Santacruz where I found many customers with the same complaint - excess billing.
It seems that there is a glitch in android mobiles which continues to use the server link even after you think you have logged off! Meaning, if you"re using the facility and dont know enough to log off each time you use the net, you will be hot with a 5k bill each month. They don't have the courtesy to inform the customer before hand; why should they since it's bringing them revenue at our cost. I have opted for the 499 unlimited billing plan(unlimited in the home city only!) from this cycle. Here too, it's dicey as one needs to know how to log on / log off as if you happen to travel out of this circle, again you'll have to pay exorbitant charges for gprs.
Bloody scam tacitly aided by complete non-information from loop, a third rate service provider, whom i'm continuing with only'coz of the number.
I have written to their customer service to reverse half the amount excess levied, but so far, no revert.
Will churn to airtel as I have better association with them.
