Well! Let me put it this way, This particular article of mine would act as a virtual guide to anyone would prefers to know about London.

London, the cosmopolitan city or the GAY city, constituting 30% of greenary boasts itself for the most number of gardening events in the world. Its the home of the Royal's most preffered Regent park and not to forget the famous botanical garden at Kew. However there are a lot of these smaller gardens who make themselves lively with day to day events for fun and entertainment.

During my visit to london for the first time in June 2001, I stay at the Dorchester Hotel close to Paddington Station and temperature being absolutely perfect with not more than 20 degree celcius; I had the best time of my life.

The best season to visit London is during the Spring/Summer thats from May - September. The city is almost 500 years old and buildings that can be found range from the traditional 16th Century buildings to modern architectural designs. Its a paradise as long as your pockets do have atleast a few hundred pounds.

Its an accepted fact that all tourists go to London for sightseeing. In this case, its very important to look out for a means of transport. Buses are preffered if you need some sighseeing on the way, if you have proper plans, its convinient to take the tubes (underground trains).

Taxis are reasonably expensive and tourists could take them only during an emergency or if they have a couple of more hundred pounds that adds weight to their pockets, then taxis for sure could help them with that.

If you ask me, its best to take the sightseeing buses which can be found in most bus stops. These buses can be identified with a sign board and for a day's tour, it should not cost you more than 15 pounds/person. This fare also includes a FREE Thames river cruise.

As soon as you get into the Double Decker bus, you are provided with a road map. These buses are Hop In & Off buses which means u can get on and off the bus whenever/wherever u feel like, but make sure you dont lose your tickets. If I am right, there are 3 routes to these buses, constituted by Red, Green & Blue lines all covering different areas in London.

The most important places to visit in London are the following. The sightseeing buses cover almost all the places and its upto the tourist to get off the bus if they find the place of sight to be interesting.

The British Museum opened from 10:00 Am to 5:00 Pm on all week days (including saturdays)is an interesting place to visit. Buckingham palace, the house of the Royals has an interesting view during the change of guards. Its open only during Aug-Sep for an inside view and tickets are to be bought in advance. Next comes the Kew Palace & Gardens normally opened for spring and summer is beautiful. The London Dungeon featuring shows on 'Jack The Ripper Experience' show is another nice place.

Other places include London Zoo, Madamme Tussade featuring wax models of celebrities, Trafalgar Square, St. Paul's Cathedral, Oxford Street for shopping, Regent Street for shopping again but holds mostly designer stuffs and proves expensive, Tower Bridge, WestMinister Abbey, Leicster Square, London Planetorium.

As said before, most of the places are covered by the bus tour and even in a fast track tour, you need atleast 3 days to see LONDON.
