Do you feel the country is safe in their hands?

August 15th and January 26th are days that come year after year and earlier it was a matter of great joy when I was in school as sweets used to be distributed and some cultural programs used to be conducted and when I joined college the days was conspicuous because of the holiday which we used to have. Frankly speaking these days hardly matter to any of the Indians today than our family and our careers which hold the forte. The sheer passion and the importance of these days need to be highlighted as these are important days as they form the backbone of what India today is?

Elections after elections we have people entering politics with criminal background. In the just concluded assembly elections in Maharashtra the aforesaid thing just happened. We have people like Mr. Arun Gawli being elected and this is just a mockery of the very sanctity of elections. People with criminal background should not be allowed to contest the elections and though this is a rule, I fail to understand as to what basis do they allow such people to contest and who votes them?

All said and done, what shall we do now as a citizen?

Well one thing for sure it asking the election commission to create a new area while casting a vote. Normally we have choices as to whom we want to vote for example:-

Party X, Party Y etc... But now we can have a new icon which says no one!

What I wanted to say was in the voting chart we have another choice as “no one” where in the voter who does not wish to caste his/her vote to any of the party mentioned in the ballot will tick this option and..

Now………..

When the government sees that more than 40% or whatever be the amount required to decide that the people are not happy with the contestants standing for the elections there will be a re election and till the contestants satisfy the minimum requirements the people can cancel the elections which will make the government take notice of what is happening and where they are going wrong?

And I feel that in a huge country like ours a voter turnout of just a mere 54% makes news and I think its time that everyone participates in making the government or else stop criticizing what the government does ??

Elections are a very important for the formation of a able and an efficient government and we all are part of it and lets wake up countrymen!

All said and done, we need more effective citizens in our country than efficient people which we are to some extent!!!
