The Logitech MK 250 is a mouse/keyboard combo ideal for the masses. I assume so, because the cost is about Indian Rupees 1, 200 or thereabouts. The reason for the cost being moderately high, is that it is a wireless set. Computer firms tout the wireless 2.4 GHz technology as the latest technology, at least for wireless mouse/keyboard combos. Interestingly, the xbox 360 wireless controller for PC games also uses the same technology.
I presume, that the advantages are many of this technology, one of them being a high battery life. I have not had to change the battery of the keyboard, yet, but I did need to change the battery of the mouse, after owning the set for about two months. I have since learned, that one should switch off the mouse, and keyboard, when one is not using them. I purchased this combo, despite having great reservations about wireless mouse/keyboard combos, and only because of.... you guessed it the 2.4 GHz technology.
A gentleman I know, who is a computer professional of repute, advised me after I had bought the set, not to buy any wireless keyboard/mouse combo. I must say, that my workstation looks uncluttered, because of less wires in the way, and I am supremely comfortable with my combo. The only thing is, I must remember to turn off my keyboard switch, and mouse switch, to prolong battery life. I have purchased alkaline batteries in spare, and kept them in my workstation drawer.
After I put the mobility of my mouse pointer on full, the battery life went down, so if battery life is of primary concern, do not do this. Perhaps, it does not make much of a difference, because when the mobility of the mouse pointer on the screen is low, one has to move the mouse a lot on the surface, which may also not be good for the battery. The combo is extremely sturdy. the keys are durable, and I feel, that they will last. The finish of the keys could have been better, in the sense, the plastic could have been made more acceptable to touch. I find the touch of the plastic on the mouse, and keyboard, not that smooth. But this is not a complaint. When I use the term better, I do not mean, that things are in the least not good. I would end, by endorsing this combo wholeheartedly.
