Are the MUMBAI’s BEST , BEST anymore?

I wrote couple of articles in last 2 months. But this is long time after I am writing this.


The BEST which means above every one I think no…………. but here it means BEST (The Brihanmumbai Electric Supply & Transport Undertaking) surprising.


This article is related to the strike which BEST walla make on 21st and 22nd of April, 2006. I think its 2nd strike in last 2 years.


I was in malad when last strike made by BEST wallas . I used to buy Rs.4 walla ticket and can reach malad station. but on that very day(BEST ON STRIKE) there was no buses . so there is BONUS season for AUTORICKSHAWS and TAXIS wallas . They are charging anything. it took me Rs. 25-28 from jankalyan nagar to malad station but they open their mouth not less than Rs.35(ALSO READ :: https://mouthshut.com/review/Writing_Reviews_on_MouthShut-97750-1.html ) and eventually it was over but now again the BEST’s strike season arrives now this time only for 2 days but again the same problem. AGAIN Bonus season for AUTORICKSHAWS and TAXIS wallas and more taxing days for so called common man.


This time it costs me Rs. 50 from malad station to jankalyan nagar Where are we heading anyone can tell me? I read in newspaper there is loss of Rs. 2 crore every day to BEST (on STRIKE DAYS) and AUTORICKSHAWS and TAXIS wallas get the bonus of Rs.1000/- (Approx.) more than the usually what they used to make on normal days . So the question arrives should the BEST are allowed to call the STRIKE? If yes then Maharashtra Govt. should regulate the AUTORICKSHAWS and TAXIS wallas should not ask for more than what they usually charge and should prove with Roads on which there is no traffic jams , every day I see every road in Mumbai be it on inner roads or highways and thing is DIG by ROAD AUTHORITIES and that’s creates unnecessary TRAFFIC jams. If they can regulate this then BEST should be allowed to go on the STRIKE else not and maharashtra government should be SUED for creating inconvenience to mumbaikars


Also the main purpose of the government is to ensure that the common man should have the convenience of roads transportation i.e. BEST but if they have to agree upon the demands of BEST WORKERS then what’s the use of not agree upon on very first day only? Why the common man should suffer because of the rigid management of transport authorities?
