Lipstick was actually a kind of relief from the usual Balaji melodramas aired on television day in and day out. For one, it had a fresh star cast, not necessarily good, but I believe change is always for the best.

Given the fact that the director is also the cinematographer, the beginning titles are shot very interestingly.

And so the story began of a simple girl who had a dream of being the best in her field with her diligent hard work and genuine efforts.

But she is befriended by her boss's daughter only to be stabbed in the back later. But nevertheless she springs back on her own two feet - after trying to commit suicide - which again was a little too melodramatic.

The protagonist in question, Shweta Salve, who made her debut in the flick Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi, has shone like a star that she so deserves to be.

Same goes for the rest of the amalgamated cast of the soap including the oh-so-gorgeous Aly Khan.

But recently caught an episode on air which showcased the usage of black magic and even went to the extent of proving that the power of the devil is bigger than that of God. Personally, I am an athiest and don't really care for either - God or the Devil. But to think of it that the show is watched by families which includes house wives and kids - since the show is aired at 11 in the night - it wasn't a very social thing.

So unfortunately like every other serial that starts with a promise of being something to remember forever - this one too has lost its lustre.
