Lifebuoy is one soap that has the image of a healthy soap. Its tagline says "Lifebuoy hai jahan, Tandurasti hai wahan". A blatant lie.No soap can provide you health. Moreover its not a soap for humans. Soaps are of three types:
1.Bath Soaps 2. Toilet Soaps 3. Carbolic Soaps
Among these Bath soaps contain the highest percentage of TFM, followed by toilet soaps. Carbolic soaps contain the least percentage of fats. And criteria for a good soap is more the TFM, better the soap is. The TFM content of Grade I toilet soap should be 76% or above. TFM content of Grade II toilet soap should be less than 76% but not less than 70%. TFM content of Grade III toilet soap should be less than 70% but not less than 60%.The stated TFM content of Lifebuoy is 60%, i.e. just minimum requirement. Further it is a carbolic soap which is used to bath dogs and pets in the western world. And here we are using it as a premium soap. You can also observe that your skin gets dry after using this soap.
So please refrain from using this soap as there are'n' no of better alternatives available in the market
