This book is a multifaceted literary work and a masterpiece. One needs a special eye and mind to interpret the essence of this beautiful story. I am from Pondicherry and I am happy to see how the author brilliantly portrays multiple aspects of Indian history, religion, zoology, survival, family and life.
Book starts well with mix of mystery and flow. One can easily connect with the book, the begains the life of Pi. Though I was able to connect to the book due to simple language and descriptive narration by the writer, but at times apparently writer over did it and I had to chew many paragraphs. Middle part of the book was slow and kind of narration of different shades of nature, human & animal psyche. Last part of the book was interesting and pushes to complete it
Truly a Man-Booker winner and requires multiple re-reads. And not to forget to credit and respect Ang Lee for his remarkable attempt and efforts in making a movie out of this book which otherwise was thought to be unfilmable.!
