Love to Live, Mon Ami. Review on Life Is Beautiful -Hollywood Movie

Life is truely Beautiful. And this was brought out exceptionally well by Roberto Benigni, in the film - Life is beautiful.

Roberto Benigni has indeed given a masterful performance. And it was his performance that stole our hearts all along. Him, and the kid who played his son.

As everyone does know, this film got a few oscars. It is the story about a waiter, who loves life, and lives it as it should be lived.

A Jewish waiter , who woos the woman of his life, in all kinds of ways. Who elopes with his love, in incredible style. And this happens at a time, when Nazism was at its peak.

As time goes on, he is blessed with a son. He lives his life as before, but in troubled times, being a Jew, has to put up with jibes, and is taken into custody often.

And then one day, he and his son are taken away, herded like sheep to a concentration camp. His wife too joins their train, when she realised what has happened.

from here on, the film takes on a heavy air. But, Roberto who loves his son, makes up various stories, to keep the horror and the fear out of his sons life. To keep his son alive he resorts to various tricks.Makes up a wild story, of how, if the kid keeps out of sight, he would win a tank for himself.

This film really tugs at the strings of your heart. The sacrifice made up by the father, to keep his son alive is done relatively in a simple manner, but it is so poignant.

Some scenes are quite hilarious, including the one in the nazi camp, where the hero, acts as the interpreter, and talks only about the non-existent contest and its rules, to make it sound official to his son.

Another scene that moved me, was when the hero is being taken to be shot, but to keep his son from being found out, he acts nonchalantly and walks on winking to his son..

Oh well, I could really go on about the many other scenes in this film, but nothing to beat it than personal viewing. I wonder , why I did not see it earlier.But then I did see it na! Just how, the Jewish People must have sufferred, in the holocaust days. How many scars, must the survivors be carrying.

A lot of folks crib about things that they could or couldnt have.But tell me, what could be more important than your Life itself ? All of us are here with a specific purpose. So why not find out what it is and go on to make the most of it, instead of being muiserable for nothing.

Life is for living, and loving to live. Go for it! Yeah!
