We have been purchasing Liberty shoes from malls and other stores for a long time. But I got a first hand taste of their customer service(?) a day before sharing it with you folks!
On Sunday February 25, 07 we decided to explore the exclusive showroom on Commercial Street in Bangalore. I must say it was the most pathetic and humiliating service offered. The sales person was not forthcoming in showing variety and sizes in footwear for my child. He had a common answer of'No size' for every pair we picked up. After repeated attempts we asked to be directed to the manager of the store to help us get assistance. With a lot of sneering and rude giggles from the salespeople, we were directed to the manager.
The manager, we realized, led by example! He did not even bother to look at us and listen to our request! He was busy billing the shoes of another customer(who either was too thick skinned for insults or was lucky:). Finally I got his attention and shared the experience with the hope that we will get a better service. But lo behold! He asked to go to another shop! huh! This is the first time I have come across an instance where a plea for help was given such an interesting option. Go to another store! Liberty folks must have a large heart or resounding business to train their staff and inculcate such kind options.
Before sharing my experience here, I have shared it on the Liberty website. I will keep you folks updated on how it works. But yes I hope people realise that just because we buy shoes, we need not get booted out of the store!
