Before I start my review I would like to tell that I am a regular in doing online purchases and I have made purchase from sites like eBay, saholic without any trouble. This is the first time I am having issues from online purchase. Now I start my review.


I had seen many negative reviews about letsbuy.com on mouthshut but there were some positive reviews(63%) which said that if they had the stock they will ship immediately. So I took a chance as the phone which I wanted (Spice mi-310 )was around Rs.700 cheaper that any other site and called their customer care and checked if Spice mi-310 is available in stock.


I was told that it is available in stock and it will be delivered in 4-7 days. So I placed the order on their website and I used the credit card to make the payment(i should have used COD) . I got a SMS confirming my order and I waited patiently for shipping information.


I called immediately their customer care and I was told that it will take 24 hrs to 48 hours to capture my payment. I asked them with what they are going to capture as their website shows that the payment is confirmed but still they insisted that my payment will take 2 days to capture. He said that after capturing teh payment the item  will be shipped . So I waited. Called after 2 days for shipping details. I was told that it will be shipped this evening. Again waited and there was no update from letsbuy.


Next day I called the customer care again and I was told that as I had called previously she cannot entertain my call and someone will call me in the evening to give the update. I got no call from them and I was checking their website to see if they had updated the shipping details. There was no update. By chance I clicked on the link of the product and it took me to the page showing the details of the phone I ordered and it showed as Sold Out.


My fears came true as one of the reviewers on MS had similar experience. So I called them immediately to check the status of my order. As expected I was told that the item is out of stock and also I was told that they tried to call me to inform this. I had not received any call from them but he claimed that the information on their system shows that they have called. I told that that is immaterial and asked about the status.He gave me two options either wait or get the refund which I opted( still have not received the refund. will update on that).


It appear that they don't maintain stock and purchase only after getting the amount from the customer and ship it after the item is purchased. If the item is not available at the rate that they are offering the mark the item as sold out and cancel the order.


I took a chance as there were 63% people recommending it. And this review it to reduce that number so that every one says let us not buy from letsbuy.com
