A Budget smartphone with all the features that you need, these are the talk that you have been listening till now about this phone.Its been 2 weeks now that I have been using this phone.
Things sometimes not are alike what you see.Actually all the review that has been going viral on internet are of short term.Are you going to change phone in every 2 months, if yes go on buy the phone and enjoy, if not this review is for you.
ZUK is actually a subsidiary of Lenovo and they develop smartphones independently. ZUK had been planning to launch their in india but Since the device was using CyanogenMod it could not be launched in India(Cyanogen had an exclusive agreement with YU in India). Now that the exclusive agreement between YU and Cyanogen is over, Lenovo has launched the Z1 in India.
Now, coming to the phone, In the first sight the specs would seem unbelievably good, But going in the depth You will find something which can change your design to buy this phone.
Hardware includes a Snapdragon 801 processor, 3GB RAM, 64GB storage and a 4, 100mAh battery which actually seems pretty good, but CPU on which the phone is running is actually 2 years old, and the snapdragon 615 CPU in moto g4 plus proved to be better performing than this old CPU in terms of multi tasking, ram management and power consumption.
Coming to the software part It is runing on CyanogenMod 12.1 based on Android 5.1. In true Cyanogen style, it lets users tweak almost everything on the phone.But same story goes for the software part also, the cyanogenmod are specially known for their nightly builds which are not that stable, so in order to get the stable update no one knows for how long you will have to wait.
Most of the people are talking about the camera, the camera on the phone is indeed very good but the default camera app that has been given is worst that I have ever seen.You will have to use a 3rd party camera app, also the gallery app is very bad, it takes forever to load the thumbnails in the gallery after you scroll down.
Overall in this price range the phone is un-complain-able but I think a lot can be improved, and in the same price range you can go for moto g4 plus.
