I purchased the laptop with much expectations but here are my findings
Lenovo Ideapad 500 features a 15.6-inch Full High Definition( FHD) display, Intel 6'th generation Core i5 6200U processor, 8GB DDR3L RAM, 1TB hard disk drive in addition to a white backlit keyboard. The laptop features Intel RealSense Technology which enables you to use Windows Hello functionality for logging into Windows.
The look and feel of the laptop doesn't look appealing because of its white display bezel but the laptop is capable of handling various heavy tasks easily.
I found that Lenovo doesn't have any mechanism to control heat. The keyboard got hot even during idle time. While the right side remains cool, left side generates heat during heavy tasks.
Sometimes, display driver error pops-up( as rightly said by other reviewer) . I noticed that brightness levels are not adequate. You can't work with 100% brightness. But if you adjust to 90%, the display will become dim but again will increase automatically without my intervention. Even though colors were vivid, whites were not pleasant like my 8-year old Dell Inspiron.
Even though Lenovo Ideapad 500 has all the required slots, the Ethernet cable slot is very hard to use. Trust me - You have to apply force to pull the window to insert and pull out the cable.
I doesn't like the white or silver bezel surrounding the display. The silver color is good for smartphones but doesn't appeal for a laptop.
