I was skeptical about android phones, being vulnerable to software hiccups, and cluttered UI(about which I was wrong). But I had to ditch that godforsaken Windows phone(not that I absolutely hated it, but it wasn't what one would call a SMARTPHONE. Yes it had the essential features, but the interface was quite rigid.)

Along came Lenovo a6000 Plus. While scrolling through the numerous android phones, it was the one that stood out. At a mere 7500 bucks, it gave me more than any budget segment phone actually would. It basically is an upgraded version of the a6000, with double the amount of RAM and internal storage, for a thousand more. A bargain is what it is. Sporting an 8 megapixel camera at the rear, and a 2 megapixel camera at the front, it does a good job at taking basic portraits. Don't expect too much for too much with the pricetag it sports. The image quality is passable, if that's what you're asking. The 720p screen looks good enough, and feels good enough to watch videos, and isn't too hard on the eyes. The interface is smooth, and rarely will you experience a stutter. It comes pre-loaded with the essential applications and games, which after a few minutes of use, you will feel obligated to uninstall. It's light weighted, and fits perfectly in your hands, even if yours are of the size of a midget's. The build quality feels good, but just to be on the safe side, buy a back cover. You never know when clumsy you, be the reason for a thousand bucks repair bill.

The navigation keys aren't backlit, so navigating through them in the dark is not a child's play(although I prefer non-backlit keys). It boasts of having speakers powered by Dolby, but that is questionable. The speakers are underpowered, and the sound cracks at high volumes. The battery backup is terrible(and even more terrible if you've upgraded it to 5.0). It runs out of juice in just a couple of hours(i do not use heavy applications). But that seems reasonable because of the performance it delivers. I played The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, Rayman Legends and Dead Space, all of which it handles pretty well(Game of Thrones recorded a dip in the framerate in a couple of areas).

Summing it up,

The Pros:

Performance

Good screen quality

Smooth UI

4G enabled

Sturdy design

Good price point

The Cons:

Terrible battery backup

Average sound and microphone quality

Buggy 5.0 OS(DO NOT UPGRADE TO 5.0)

does not come equipped with headphones
