He is a showman, producer, director, actor. Shashi Kapoor said that he always make the film with the heart. He had a great knowledge in music also thats why he interfered in the work of all the music director. All knows it so they gave respect to him. He create some extra quality to that tune by which it become magical. Not everybody knows that the contribution by him in music rates high and become popular due to him.
Weather he was Shankar Jaikishan or Laxmikant Pyarelal.
The stories in his film was mostly based on his life. He actually loves a girl in real life. He went to her father's home to met him. At that time that girl mixing the wheat floor and she open the door for him. Exactly that scene he inserted in his film Bobby. Where he introduced his son Rishi Kapoor and the heroine Dimple Kapadia.
In Sangam, again a scene repeated where heroine Vajyantimala torns the letter and throw it outside the window. Then he took that and started joining it like a puzzle. That same incidence occurs in the real life of Raj Kapoor.
All his films had some philosophy.
Mera Naam Joker was made then he thought that he wants to make this a comedy type but it turns out to be philosophy type. Its songs were become popular at that time. But the film gets flopped due to block buster hit of Johny Mera Naam by Dev Anand. This breaks him from inside totally.
But still he made his last film Henna in which he previously promised to Farida Jalal to act in his film that can change her career. After this film she offered lots of mother roles like, Duplicate, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, etc.
He then receive Dadasaheb Falke Award for his contribution to film industry. He then suffering a disease due to which he become fat. He can't get on the stage to collect the award. He receive it by standing where he was sitting then. Just another day he passed away. Then the rest of the film was directed by Randhir Kapoor. Whole film industry was gathered on the road to the funeral of him.
This kind of personality was Raj Kapoor. Now recently the new showman arrived is Mr. Subhash Ghai. But the Old is Gold.
