LRL which started on a good note, faced lot of flak and resentment from majority of the audience for adding spices. Now as it has taken a seasonal break I wish to add few notes. Going by the last fifteen or twenty episodes it looks that the makers did receive the wakeup call. There was tremendous improvement in terms of entertainment and moral values. Going into details.

First. what ever be the reason, Major Bhargav was dropped for good. It was not that Rajesh Khera was a bad actor but his character, was getting unbearable with plans which we never thought would exist in Army.

Second. the scenes between Rajveer and Naina are handled more sensibly than before. At one point the director was so irresponsible that the very existence of the pair was making one think which uncomfortable scene would follow next. The picnic like drill where they fall and play in mud, the scene where they land in awkward position in front of students and faculty.etc.(all these were discussed before). were all good examples of the bad direction. It is not very clear how the Captain who was a philosopher and guide to his students could develop romantic inclination for a student who has only respect for him and who remembers her late elder brother from each and every action of his. Comparatively, the teacher student relation seems to be more sensibly defined now and I hope it will remain in that way for ever.

Third and most important one. entertainment! which was once missing is back. There were hilarious situations among cadets, Ali and Pooja's usual problems, revival of Naina and Huda's friendship. Especially, the later pair is treat to watch. may be because they are poles apart by nature. The director who usually goes overboard, always creates magic between the pair even with as simple thing as a tiff . Also the problems faced by physically weak students were addressed very well through Yudi.

So far so good, but still there is disappointment.for those who are eager to know about the life in military academies, which is so different from ordinary student life.

I read in the beginning that some of actors were sent to one academy to have an idea of military life but I think it is the team of writers and directors who need to be sent. The emphasis is more on fiction than the sincere effort to capture the real life of a cadet in a military academy. All of us know it is a tough life, but it is not shown properly in LRL. In fact Farhan Akthar could make us feel the pinch in two or three scenes in his film "Lakshya". Even things, which are very important to people in uniform are not taken seriously.

If you remember the Republic day episode. handful of cadets, marching? from one side to other was passed off as parade. At least they could have made up by some cultural programs by the cadets.no such thing.they filled the episode mostly with scenes between Naina and her parents. In fact Valentine's day was given better treatment with all students enjoying the reunion of BC with his last love Chitra. In the country like ours where a quite good number of women officers pass every year, the portrayal of either Naina or Pooja does not throw a proper light on their lives in academies. If one teacher falls for Naina, then another teacher makes life miserable for Pooja. Even the trigger thing looks very filmy.

I wish, the makers would over come all these draw backs and concentrate more on the realistic events in a military academy and show how ordinary students become tough soldiers but not love triangles and rectangles. It is good if all the cadets are given equal importance not just the story between Naina and Rajveer with Huda or Dr. Ritu filling the other angles. If this were the main story there was no need to have a military academy as a back drop, they could have done it with any college.

I hope DJs realize that most of us watch the serial only because it offers some thing other than kitchen politics and I request them not to fill it with twists and turns and unethical romance between students and teachers.
