This is an amazing FTP software, it allows u to concurrently upload/download 16 files at a time. The benefits of using leech is that due to its concurrent transfers the speeds improve. I have personally benchmarked 10 ftp utils and leech offered me atleast 50% better speeds.
It actually uses one connection for displaying the directory info and 15 for file trf, but u can disconnect the diaply thread and use that for trf too!
Unlike other FTP utils Leech does not require u to be connected to the source or destination directory. Once u provide the path for upload or download u can browse diff directories.
Plus it has a easy to use interface which even a lay man can use. Leech provides a faliure list too!
The development of LeechFTP has been discontinued for over 2 years now.
the successor of LeechFTP is called BitBeamer. BitBeamer will incorporate all of LeechFTP's features, in fact large parts of the ftp engine are based on the code of LeechFTP. But it also offers a lot new features, BitBeamer was designed to handle most if not all of your Internet file transfer needs. but it's not yet ready for release.
