Dont go to Autostart driving school. Review on Learning to Drive

I came to know about Auto Start Driving school from Internet. When I visited the place, it looked to me good and classy. They have ac office and all AC Hyundai Santro cars. They looked professional in their behaviour. The person sitting at the reception explained me about the training curriculum and I liked it. They offer 5 days of theoretical training, 10 days of driving simulator training and 10 days of on-road training with daily 10 Km drive. They charged Rs. 3500 for this. Immediately I enrolled myself for the training.

That's it. After that day I used to curse myself for choosing this driving school. Very first day I went there, the person just gave me a computer to read some slides on traffic rules, etc. and went away. After I completed reading, he came with a book in his hand, which is supposed to be assessment book for the trainee. He himself put A grades in all the tasks and just asked me to sign that. This went on for 5 days.

Simulator training is good, but they dont cover all the scenarios which they mention in the assessment book. They just want to somehow complete 10 days, without any commitment.

The worst part is on-road training. All the instructors are very unprofessional and looks as if they were auto drivers earlier. Most of the time they are silent and angry faced. They wont tell you anything unless you make a mistake or you deliberately ask them any question. Even then they will answer in very rude manner.

Also they teach only 50% of what is written in curriculum. For instance, straight parking, reverse parking, bumper-to-bumper drive, round abouts, right of way, etc are all menioned in curriculum, but they dont teach these things. When I told them about this, the person sarcastically said that we cannot teaach everything. If you want to learn these things, you better get your own car.

Also they dont cover 10 Km daily.

Overall I want to say that AutoStart driving school is a big cheat institution and we should avoid going to this. Better than this, go to any local driving school where you only need to pay some 2000 bucks. In AutoStart you cannot learn driving, if you dont know driving completely. I learnt driving because of my will power and some prior driving experience.
