Sridhar Driving School, Austin Town, Bangalore

I hold a valid 4 wheeler license but since I had not driven since the past 10 years I decided to join Shridhar Driving School for touch up before actually taking my new car on the road.I paid Rs 2200 to learn Santro for 20 days half hour classes.

I realized my mistake of paying the entire amount in advance on the very first day when instead of 10.30 class, I had to wait till 11.30 am for the class to start though I had made it clear to them that I need punctuality as I leave my baby with someone at home. These are some of the reasons why I was forced to write this review so that others are not cheated like the way I was

  • Though they mention half an hour, it is actually 5 kms or half an hour whichever is earlier. So if you finish driving 5 kms in 15 min, your class for that day is over. This was not told to me before I made the payment.

  • The instructor invariably will have some friend sitting in the backseat for him to chat. And this friend(everyday some new friend of his) will have to be picked up and dropped .All this in your so called half an hour driving lesson.

-At times you will be made to wait as his friend would not have arrived at the pick up point(which changes everyday)

-On one of the days I had to pick up his relative from some Galli in Ulsoor & drop her at Ejipura. Oh I forgot to mention that in between this we also stopped by a gas agency as we had to book a gas connection for the instructor's relative.

-Since this pick up & drop covered more than 5 kms on that day, the next day he covered only 3 kms of the class.

-When I complained about this to the owner, I was told that I should concentrate on my driving rather than who else is sitting in the car & also that as long as the pick up & drop of his friends/relatives is within my half hour slot, I should not be bothered.

-On one of the days, I had to drive a maruthi 800 instead of a santro( for which I had paid Rs 100 extra) as the santro was taken by someone else in my slot time.

-On another day, the santro gas got over just when I was about to start the class, so that day's class was taken the next day.

Well, the list is too long to mention & all I can say is that the reason why I am writing this review is that had someone written about their experience with Shridhara Driving School earlier, probably I would have saved my money, time & energy by not joining them.
