I wanted to move inside Bangalore and Javeed of Lead Packers and Movers came for the inspection. During Inspection, I told him about the special packing (using thermocoal) needed for the Cot and the sofa only. He acknowledged the request and gave me a quote of 6K. He also mentioned this special packing requirement in the quotation.
On the day prior to movement, I have called Javeed and checked with him on preparedness and all, for which he said "everything is fine". On the day of movement the packers came with USED carboard sheets and 3 drums for glass items. The slip that they carried clearly mentioned to bring in thermocoal, but, they were unaware of it. I was taken in by surprise and asked with them for the thermocoal needed for the packing for which they said, they were not even aware of. I called up Javeed to find out that his mobile is switched off.
I then called up the Lead office and spoke with Mathew and Kumar (I think his name is Kumar). Both were managers/colleagues of Javeed. I told them about the promise that Javeed made and told them the D-day was today and the packers came without the needed thermocoal. They gave scant regard to the promise made by Javeed and refused to honour it. Spoke with them for half an hour through multiple calls and they refused to make any amends.
Both Mathew and Kumar told me to be optimistic, but, whenever the question came about damages they refused to answer it. It is like speaking to an answering machine, for every question that you ask, the answer is the same "Be optimistic". Towards the end of the call, Kumar told me that the deal is cancelled and requested the packers to move to a different work. THEY MADE ME LITERALLY STRANDED ON THE DAY OF THE MOVEMENT.
We had to vacate the house in the next 3 days and hence, both me and my wife had taken leaves from our respective organization and have dropped our son at a place for this day. Now, with these cheats, all the plans were going wrong. The movement day was Thursday and with this people dropping out at the last minute, no other packers would be available in such a short notice and I would have the financial burden of not moving also.
I was left with no choice but to take the support of packers who came with whatever materials to do the movement. Bottom line: Please take the help of packers and movers who are professional and trustworthy. At least, who honour their words. This is a true incident which occurred to me very recently. My name is Ajith and I can be reached over at 961-111-0176 for any queries.
