I discovered LPQ by accident. While running errands in Colaba, I came across this cute little bakery and decided to give it a try. And boy, I am truly grateful for this happy accident.
LPQ serves French cuisine and some seriously scrumptious breakfast. The breakfast line up includes varieties of eggs, bacon, waffles, french toast and even steamed idlis. Le Pain Quotidien literally means ‘The Daily Bread’ in French. True to its name, they sell and serve an assortment of breads, sauces, spreads and jams. They also have an impressive selection of wines. The sangrias are not bad either.
I love their cold soup, such a refreshing change. To find a restaurant in Mumbai that serves cold soup is quite an achievement. The pasta in cheese sauce is so sinful that you might have to run an extra mile on the treadmill, but trust me it is totally worth it. The best thing about LPQ is like the savory items, the desserts have a dominant place on the menu. There is long list to choose from and I suggest that you try every single thing. Seriously!
LPQ has a community table, in case you feel chirpy and in the mood for some friendly banter. The café has lovely wooden interior with French accents. It’s the perfect place to unwind with friends after a long day at work or an even tiresome shopping spree.
