I have bought a pair of spectacles and lens from Lawrence and Mayo, Indira Nagar, Bangalore. I was told by a Mr. Vishnudas that the current lens I am using is 1.56 and that if I take that, after measuring the length of the frame, he told me that the thickness would be the same.
When I got my spectacles, the thickness turned out to be 4 mm, 0.75 mm (20%) more than my previous lens, which he told was of the same make. If I was told that the thickness would be so, I would have gone for a better one. Why tell the customer something and give something else? This is not what I paid for. If he didn't know what the thickness would be, he should have said so!
When I talked to him on the phone, he was very rude. When I asked him to connect me to the regional manager of Bangalore, he said, "No one would call back." And when I said I would go to the consumer court about this, he told me to do so.
That was very decent of him! And if Lawrence and Mayo employs such people, then I think their reputation is at stake.
We don't shell out thousands of rupees and receive something which we have not paid for.
