Horrible experience with Lava XTRON tablet

I purchased this tablet in May 2013 and the battery went dead completely dead in 3 months. I took it to the so called service center at Bangalore, a small dingy shop, disorganized. The man said it will take a week to repair. After 10 days or so, I was called and said the tablet is ready. I came home with the tablet and the battery died again. I made another trip to the service center. He said he will look into it. I got a call after a week saying that the repair is done and I can come and pick it up. When I went there, I was shocked to see that the service people had cracked the screen. When I asked them why I was told it was ready he had no answer. I went back without the tablet, since the service man said the screen has to come from Delhi. After a week I finally got back the tablet with scratches and abrasions on the side.


Now, a few weeks ago, the battery again died completely. When I called Lava support, I said I get only one chance to repair under warranty. Anyway, the warranty had expired and I conveyed my disappointment very clearly with the customer care people and asked them to replace the tablet after the bad experiences I had.


No answer from them so far - on the other hand they spend heavily on advertising and sponsoring events - if they think they capture the tablet market with such an idiotic strategy, they must be out of their minds. First and foremost, the quality of the product should be good and the after sales service needs tremendous improvement.


I hope the Lava management reads this, since the customer care is not responding any way - if they continue to think this heavy advertising of substandard products will work, the company will go to the dogs soon.
