Wow! What a great place to visit. I went to Las Vegas in May of this year. I have to say it was one of the best vacations I have ever had. Probably because I actually came home with some money...

But seriously...if you are planning a trip to Las Vegas, let me make a couple of suggestions. First, the air is very dry there. Take some nasal drops and chap lipstick. On the second day of our trip our noses were so dry we all had nose bleeds. If you are not used to the dry climate you will want some moisture.

Second, don't plan on getting much sleep. I had always heard rumors that the hotels pump oxygen into the casinos to help keep you awake. Well, I am here to tell you this is true. We slept nine hours in four days and it didn't hit us until we got home. You can feel the oxygenated air hit your lungs as you walk under the vents. It's like a breath of fresh air in the casino. I'm not complaining, it felt great.

Third, bring very comfortable walking shoes. There is a lot of walking in Vegas. Just walking from one hotel to the other is a long walk. I would say we walked a good ten miles a day. If you're not used to walking, that is a lot.

If gambling is not your thing, Las Vegas is still a nice place to visit. I am not really a gambler. I took a certain amount of money to ''play'' with and when my daily allowance was gone, I concentrated on the many other things to do there. For example, most of the hotels have shows. Depending on your budget, there is a wide variety of shows to see. There is a volcano that erupts every half hour in front of one hotel, and a water show that starts every fifteen minutes in front of another. There is even a pirate show with live pirates and a sinking ship.

If food is your thing, then Vegas is the place for you. There are many buffets to chose from that have prime rib and all you can eat shrimp. When we weren't gambling, or watching shows, we were eating.

If you are in the hotel casino, you should wear a watch because there are no clocks to be found. We found the people in Las Vegas to be very friendly and even the dealers gave us some hints when they found out it was our first time there. For those of you who are curious, we came home with $750.00 in winnings, which made our trip that much more special.

I highly recommend Las Vegas to the person who is looking for a good time. The lights are amazing and they make you feel like you are part of something special.
