*KABHIE MAIN KAHOON
KABHI TUM KAHO
KE MAINE TUMHE
YE DIL DE DIYA AA AA AA…*
Whenever I listen to this song it just makes me go backwards….this is the song from the movie Lamhe a movie which was not a blockbuster as other Yash Chopra films. But I personally liked this movie and must have watched it almost 6 or 7 times.
Since today is Sridevi’s( my all time favourite) 45th birthday I thought of writing a review on one of her best movies.
Lamhe **a 1991 release movie directed by Yash Chopra written by Honey Irani starring
Anil Kapoor **as Virendra Pratap Singh aka Viren aka Kuwarji - great performance plays two different ages in the movie.
Sridevi **in a double role as Pallavi in the first half and Pooja in the second half – again fabulous performance as always, she too plays two different ages in the movie
Waheeda Rehman **as loving Dai Jaa - great & elegant performance.
Anupam Kher **as Prem who is Viren’s friend and as always adds the comedy to the movie.
Deepak Kumar **as Siddharth Bhatnagar – his acting was dumb in the movie(pur itna toh chalta hai ab sab kuch toh accha nahi ho sakta na movie mein).
This is a story about Viren who falls in love with beautiful & bubbly Pallavi who is elder to her and later he discovers that she already has a fiancée - Siddharth. Viren is totally shattered by this revelation but to go by the promise he had given to Pallavi’s father on his deathbed he arranges for their marriage and leaves for London forever. Pallavi & Siddharth loose their life in an accident leaving behind little Pooja(since Pallavi was pregnant at the time of the accident). Pooja grows in the care of Dai Jaa. Viren never meets Pooja since she was born on the same day Pallavi lost her life and finally when he sees her he gets shocked to see Pooja who is a replica of her mother. As Viren avoids coming to Rajasthan, Dai jaa & Pooja suddenly land in London and it is there Pooja falls in love with Viren but he cannot digest this fact as he has always loved her mother and resists same but eventually he also falls for Pooja.
Overall it’s a beautifully done film, there is not even one scene in the movie which you will feel is out of place. All the characters have played their part wonderfully. Especially Anil Kapoor and Sridevi as they have played their characters in two different age groups each.
All songs are very good whether it’s the romantic number Kabhi tum kahoo or the folk song Morani Baagam Ma or the medley of old songs….
So guys if you haven’t watched this film pick up a copy and I hope you will like it too….
This is my first movie review so please have some mercy if I bored you.
